Ascot Boulevard

Ascot Boulevard is an inner suburban mixed-use development incorporating strata titled offices, shops, townhouses and carparking. Biscoe Wilson Architects worked with the local business organisations and Brisbane City Council to develop an urban design model that increased vitality and urban density in this mixed use precinct.

The creation of a central arcade and awning covered street facing shopping strip enabled activation of the footpath and encouraged permeability into the site. East and northern facing townhouses at the rear of the commercial development were 2 and 3 storey terrace apartments. We lobbied the local authority to enable footpath widenings to incorporate shaded outdoor dining areas which have become a popular addition to the Racecourse Rd precinct.
