Biscoe Wilson Office
The Biscoe Wilson Architectural Studio is an adaptive reuse of a typical inner suburban office / warehouse tenancy. The six metre high warehouse enabled a timber mezzanine to be installed partly over the length of the warehouse. The change in volumes enables interaction between staff on both levels. The industrial roller shutter was left in place and a translucent wall installed behind. Use of lightweight and translucent ESD materials was encouraged and reuse of built in furniture from the previous fitout provided savings and reduced waste. Flexible work, meeting and breakout spaces are incorporated to encourage sharing of ideas.
The venue is used for work and extra curricular activities such as film nights, art shows and gatherings for colleagues.
The office often participates in the AIA student mentor programme and believe in sharing our knowledge with future designers and architects.
We use the office for "pop-up" activities. Fashion, food and art outlets are welcome to make contact with us.
