In 2006 Biscoe Wilson Architects received a commendation from the Centre for Subtropical Design for the Beckman House in Brisbane.
Features of the design include:
This innovative, light-weight, timber framed house breaks new ground in low cost environmentally sustainable housing on steep sloping sites. The split-level section and linear-zoned planning provided a variety of private and shaded spaces, each enjoying north aspect. There are many terraces that allow internal spaces to flow onto landscaped courts, thereby blurring the relationship between inside and outside, and maximising use of all available land.
