A major industrial distribution centre on the western fringe of Brisbane was designed for Linfox, a national freight and warehousing group. The project comprised two main warehouses totalling 24,000 square metres with 10m high eaves, a truck maintenance workshop, truck wash facilities, refuelling facility and five office buildings for the different business units within the complex. External hardstand areas were designed for conventional and heavy duty container loadings. Vehicle circulation studies were undertaken to maximise efficiency of movement within the site. Biscoe Wilson Architects also designed the office fitouts for the five separate office buildings within the complex. The complex housed three independent business units of Linfox as well as a truck maintenance workshop and automated truck wash.
Biscoe Wilson Architects were engaged by the D&C contractor Ahrens Group to design, document and provide partial services during construction.
