Biscoe Wilson Architects won a design competition in 1991 for upgrading the Moreton Club River Room and adjacent courtyard. The club’s intention was to enhance the function room to generate additional revenue and provide superior facilities for club members.
The original house “Bertholme” fronting Oxlade Drive is Heritage listed and a 1850’s style residential wing fronting the river housed the “River Room” on the lower level and club accommodation on the upper level.
A heritage report prepared by Allom Lovell recommends restoration of Bertholme and removal of non sympathetic additions and extensions. The club also required better accessible design features.
Biscoe Wilson Architects worked with the club to investigate various options for the future.
