2006 RAIA Commendation (Brisbane Region)
Reliance Worldwide commissioned Biscoe Wilson Architects to build their new corporate headquarters in Brisbane, Australia. The two storey office building has been designed to present a modern dynamic identity, where visitors are met with a sinuous curved glass curtain wall bisecting a pond, reinforcing the company’s global long term success in water management. Passive ESD design techniques allow a high bay braced portal frame and only nine internal columns. Lots of natural light and good ventilation are made possible by the use of 8.5m eaves. The design also includes extensive concrete hard stand and vehicle manoeuvring areas and parking for 135 cars.
The building was designed as a large isolated structure thereby saving on the requirement for sprinklers.
Biscoe Wilson Architects were engaged by Reliance Worldwide for full, traditional architectural services.
