Barracks Development-Petrie Terrace
The old Police Barracks in Petrie Terrace, Brisbane was beyond its useful life as a barracks. QM Properties commissioned Biscoe Wilson Architects to design and document an adaptive re-use of the handsome 3 storey brick building into 20 boutique apartments (1 and 2 level) on the upper 2 levels with restaurant and specialist offices to the ground level. The design allowed the retention of internal loadbearing walls and many of the more significant heritage features.
Biscoe Wilson prepared documentation and presentation material for negotiations with the local authority, heritage department and for tendering.
Robert Biscoe acted as an expert witness for QM Properties in a Land and Environment Court Hearing on the development.
