Biscoe Wilson Architects were re-engaged by an existing client to complete the second stage of a planned extension to a small high-set timber cottage in an inner city Brisbane suburb. Stage 1 included internal alterations to the existing house and partial building in under. The stage 1 extension included master planning for a possible future extension to accommodate children.
The children arrived and the forward planning enabled the additional bedroom and living wing to be seamlessly plugged into the previous extension. The stepped section floor plan and cranked gable roof form were developed to keep the house height below the mandatory 8.5m maximum building height in the City Plan.
