This early project (circa 1992- 1993) was designed for a young couple an a rural subdivision at Oceanview road at Dayboro.
The three storey house has a geometric plan form rotating around a central spiral stair that attached to a tree trunk. Cubic form rooms revolve around the central space and the main living area is north facing and on a land / sea axis with views to Moreton Bay.
Barrel vaulted corrugated roofs and water tanks evoke thoughts about rural farm houses. The module over the entry contained the owners library and the cenrral tower was topped by an observatory with 360º views.
An observatory on the top level provides panoramic views around south east Queensland. The house was owner built with assistance from some friends.
