This large corporate head office and factory has well arranged spaces, flexible factory planning and resolved circulation. Natural ventilation and lighting utilizing passive ESD techniques are applied to provide comfortable working conditions.

Reliance Worldwide is a world leader in water control and measurement products.  The Brisbane facility houses manufacturing and warehousing operations, as well as forming the head office of the company, which employs over 600 people worldwide.  Located in Eagle Farm, it is adjacent to the existing foundry.

The factory has been designed as a high bay braced portal frame with only nine internal columns to allow flexibility in an ever-changing manufacturing facility.  Eaves are 8.5m high and an excellently lit and well-ventilated working environment has been achieved using passive ESD techniques.  Extensive concrete hardstand and vehicle maneuvering areas have been provided.  Car parking for 145 staff and visitors is set within landscaped grounds.

The two-storey office building has been designed to present a modern dynamic identity to this progressive company.  A sinuous curved low e-glass curtain wall bisects a pond at the entry foyer.  This architectural metaphor reinforces the core function of this business; water management.  A narrow floor plate allows good natural light penetration into all office spaces.

The office floor plate is narrow allowing excellent natural light to working areas. Internal offices have been minimized and high quality workstations, task seating and loose furniture have been provided to enable an efficient and extremely stylish work environment.
